About Us
About Us
We are part of Whitefriars Sailing Club, based in the Cotswold Water Park. Sailability @ Whitefriars operates between April and October on a Wednesday and Thursday. We are a volunteer run Charity and are very proud to have been awarded the King's Award for Voluntary Service in 2023. Our management team and Trustees meet regularly to ensure that we are meeting our objectives and making sailing accessible to all.
"I sailed dinghies as a hobby in my late teens and early twenties, but having lost my sight as a result of a genetic disorder I never thought that I would be able to sail again. Being out on the water gives me a sense of freedom and equality that I thought was lost to me forever." - Chris T
"They are always excited to go and the expressions on their faces during the sailing experience is priceless. It is so hard to find activates for young adults with profound and multiple learning difficulties to attend that they can get so much enjoyment and pleasure out of." - Kim, Aspects 2
"I absolutely love my days volunteering with S@W! Everyone is so friendly and I have learnt so much; my sailing has improved greatly too. A very supportive and fun group, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a volunteering role."
