Sailability@Whitefriars helps disabled people and those with long-term health conditions experience the freedom and joy of sailing. To keep our sessions safe, affordable, and sustainable, we rely on strong financial management — and that’s where our Finance Manager comes in.
We’re looking for someone organised, reliable, and comfortable with numbers to help keep our charity running smoothly. You’ll be part of the Management Team, working closely with the Treasurer and supporting the Trustees in ensuring our finances are accurate, transparent, and well managed.
What you’ll do
Keep clear, up to date records of income and expenditure
Pay invoices, process receipts, and manage bank deposits
Monitor the bank account and maintain simple cashflow forecasts
Support grant applications and track spending for each funder
Prepare monthly financial updates for the Trustees and Management Team
Reconcile accounts and help with annual budgeting and reporting
Maintain records for Gift Aid, assets, and other small income streams
What we’re looking for
Good numeracy and attention to detail
Comfortable using spreadsheets or basic accounting tools
Someone who enjoys being part of a friendly, supportive volunteer team
No formal finance qualifications required
This role makes a real difference. By keeping our finances in safe hands, you help us keep sailing accessible for everyone.

Expressions of Interest will be assessed by a Selection Team of Management Team members, Trustees and independent members, against agreed criteria by 3rd August.
A number of applicants will be invited to a Selection Panel meeting. [Dates to be arranged].
Appointments will be offered subject to satisfactory references and DBS check.
The new Accounts Manager be welcomed and appointed at the Management Team meeting on 10th August
An induction and training programme will be arranged as required.
